Holding space for you to explore, discover and live with a greater sense of synergy.

Space…

  • to drop out of the head, into the body

  • to balance the nervous system

  • to unravel, release and quieten

Space to pause, tune-in moment by moment and feel your own awe, as you perhaps realise and alchemise any changes waiting inside you.

How?

With empowering breathwork, movement and meditation practices you can access and integrate in a way that suits you.

The culture we live in often conditions us both on what wellness and an awakened life looks like, as well as who it’s available to.

I call bull on that.

I want to help people who face barriers to wellbeing (being-well) because whether it’s time, perceived ability or money holding you back, you deserve space for yourself.

Space to explore and work out what blend of practices might best support you in finding more synergy and flow in life. The kind of flow you might witness in a child who is captivated in awe.

I aim to teach in a truly person-centred, pragmatic and grounded way. Welcoming all shades of experience in life and acknowledging the role of ‘the good, the bad and the ugly’ in our journeys.

I enjoy supporting others in cultivating a deeper felt sense of the practices. Because I wholeheartedly believe that when we nurture felt sense, we can find ourselves much more easily in awe of the potency within us.

About

Often we find we’ve mistaken

habit for ritual,

tuning out for tuning in and

moving between destinations instead of flow states.

My invitation is to allow yourself space, re-awaken your awe and welcome the unravellings of these tendencies.

Yoga & Me.

What yoga looks like and means for me …. The short version.

In this short video series I share some words about the consistent intent of curiosity, unlocking greater layers of awareness, the concept of 'yoga is now’ and my influences.

Why reconnect with Awe?

It encourages a broader perspective. It softens mental chatter and rumination. It’s the emotion we experience when we’re in the presence of something vast and many of us have become detached from it.

I believe landscapes - both within and outside of us - have the power to evoke it, and I’ve experienced the power of practices to help me befriend it again.

They who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, are as good as dead; their eyes are closed..”

— Albert Einstein

Why the name Ethereal Movements?

Ether is the most subtle element yet the greatest container we have. It’s the background against which everything else becomes recognisable.

My hope is that you can use these practices to tune into the subtle layers of your own container - your own body, your own experiences - and reconnect with your own awe to live a more easeful and fulfilled life. One that feels like it flows and has great synergy with the people and experiences that surround you.

If we can live life more consciously - a life filled with more moments of awe and wonder - why wouldn’t we?

Testimonials

Katie has taught me how to be comfortable with where I am and grow from a space of understanding. She has helped me understand that it doesn’t matter if I can’t touch my toes or hold a pose instead it’s about patience and just getting started.

In my time with Katie we explore many breathing exercises, exercises that invigorate my day and help me find my focus. I find great joy in our sessions, one day we can start working on those poses, but for now I am working on my exhale.”

  • Lily, Communications Strategist and Artist

“Katie is a truly aligned teacher. Her passion and dedication to her own practice and learning journey shines through in her offerings. I find her use of language and tone always make me feel safe, nurtured and well guided while inviting me to go deeper into my practice in a way that really supports my growth in a rich way.

Katie's knowledge is vast and her energy is very present and abundant. She has a very special way of shining a light on your perspective to help you see clearer and more ease-fully. I am so grateful for having met Katie and been given the opportunity to work with her. I am all the better for it. Thank you Katie for all you give."

  • Kylie, studio owner and yoga teacher

“I had a fantastic 10 week program with Katie. I really enjoyed her teachings and enthusiasm.

Plus, she gave me some things to practice on my own which she really didn’t need to do and I just feel more buoyant with improved energy levels. I want to do it all again.”

  • Debra, community partnership Mindful Movement program participant

“Katie’s classes are extremely well structured with great flow and pace. It’s clear that Katie puts a lot of time into planning her classes and thinks about the accompanying dialogue.

For my 121 classes Katie taught me some great asanas to help with my balance and arm strength as I had requested, and was very patient helping me with posing that I have always struggled with. All in all I really enjoy being taught by Katie and love the energy she brings to class.”
